Baby Shower Party Games

July 7th, 2009 by BabyShowerWording

Baby shower party games – There’s no hard rule for baby shower party games. How meaningful the game was, depends entirely on how successful it was in giving plain fun and entertainment to the guests and the expecting mom.

If your baby shower party games are too intellectual (like a sophisticated crossword puzzle), few guests may enjoy this.

baby shower party gamesSo the job of the host is to design such baby shower party games that are easy and gets everyone to participate. There are a lot of traditional and creative ideas on baby shower party games. Here are some sweet and simple ones from top baby shower planners…

The Introduction Game

A great idea among baby shower party games is an Introduction Game. First, the hostess introduces herself. Next, she gives a vivid detail about her favorite dish or color, her pet’s name, her surname or the most recent movie she’s seen or the latest book she’s read.

Then a guest in line tells his or her name and similar details. But this person has to repeat or recall the name and details of the hostess. This goes on along the end of the line. The last guy has to add his or her name plus details.

But as these ‘detail adding game’ proceeds to the end of the line, guests will have to recall the details of the previous ‘details tellers.’ Understandably, forgetting (even distorting) names and details will bring laughter and fun in your baby showering party.

The Baby Food Game

Another fun game is the Baby Food Game. Just buy 6 different types of baby foods. Take the labels off. Put marks on each one (you can number them as well). In a separate notebook, write down which food belongs to which number. Arrange paper plates for each of your guests. For each guest there should be 6 plates (numbered from 1 to 6).

The big idea here is that each of your guests will have to put some baby food from 6 jars with corresponding numbers.

At this stage, your guests start tasting. Each guest writes down his or her best guess regarding what 6 baby foods they ate. The guest with the maximum correct guesses is the winner. Make sure you’re not buying meat flavors – you never know if a guest is a pure vegetarian.

The Smelly Diapers

Another entertaining idea is the Smelly Diapers. Get a couple of diapers and fill them with any smelly food stuff (good examples are cheese, chili and horseradish or vinegar.) fold up these diapers so nobody gets to see what’s in. Just pass these diapers around your guests. They’re supposed to smell the diaper and try to figure out what’s in those diapers.

The Advice Game

This is another one among fun baby shower party games. Get ready before your party starts. Write down a few problems about as to babies. Good examples are constant crying, or not taking food. You make sure that the problem is such that a new mom would ask advice for.

As the party goes on, pass over some blank index cards to every guest. Your guests have to write down advice for every problem. Collect these answers. Then shuffle these cards around. Before every problem, make sure you’re setting a fixed amount of cards. Finally let the expecting mom read out the most ‘unusual’ solutions on a microphone.

And here’re some final words…

If you are creative enough to design games on your own, make sure your baby shower party games are not offensive to any of your guests. Check out more games for baby shower in our website.
